Acer AOD150 Netbook - Could it Be a New Addition to Your Christmas Wish List?

Amazingly enough, I bought the Acer AOD150, and I am a loyal Mac user of long standing! That alone should give you an idea of what I think about this stylish, relatively new member of the Netbook community. This mini computer really excels in 4 areas.

1) Quality. Just because it is available at Walmart, don't think for a minute that it is on the cheap side. You are bound to be impressed with the built, feel and performance of this well made unit. I don't believe there is an area that needs improvement. Although a backlite keyboard would be nice!

2) Performance. You better read carefully, because you won't often catch me praising a Windows machine, especially when it is running on an atom N270. Well, I am definitely praising the AOD150-1920.

First, let me go over what you will be getting right of the box. The Acer AOD150 netbook is quite fast, booting is real easy and I am going to be using a brand new windows machine without reinstalling the OS.

I downloaded AVG anti-virus for free, and I'm running this baby. Video Playback is quite impressive. The 5800 Amp battery 59 Watts rated is really appreciated.

3) Design. The keyboard is perfectly o.k. It probably could be designed a little better, but I really can't complain. For Heaven's sake, It is a 300 dollar machine!

I tend to use the screen in the lowest setting, and the LED is excellent, the resolution just right. The size and weight seem fine, although it would be nice if it were a little bit wider. The Key layout is very well thought out, and the functions and commands are simple to follow It is comfortable to use sitting, laying in bad or standing. Viewing angle is fine, although videos have a somewhat narrower viewing angle.

4) Features. The battery life of the Acer AOD150 lasts about 61/2-7 hours. The audio card is superb it is as good my old macbook pro, and that's a fact. The atheros WIFI card got reception in places where my mac would not.

The HD is extremely fast, It copies data speedily, and the 1 G RAM is plenty to handle netbook type computing functions. The touchpad has advance calibration software that will allow you to use all the single finger scrolling features and flicker without much fuss. Interestingly enough, there are sensors that detect your hand on the resting pad in relation to the touchpad to avoid unwanted input.

In conclusion, as a devoted Mac fan, I never thought I'd ever find a Windows unit that I could endorse. That is, until I discovered the Acer AOD150 netbook!

Get ALL the facts before buying the Acer AOD150 Get expert reviews, up to the minute LOW pricing, important product updates on the AOD150-1920 netbook!
